Overview:

Ballyliffin GC features two very nice links golf courses, the Glashedy Links and The Old Course.  The best of the two is the Glashedy Links.

Starting from right in front of the Ballyliffin Clubhouse, the Glashedy Links was designed by Pat Ruddy and hosted the 2018 Irish Open won by Russell Knox. The Glashedy golf course has three sets of tees between 6464-7486 yards and par 72 for gents (the red tees are 5587 yards and par 72).  The course winds up some hills which creates some difficult par fours, but allows for some thrilling downhill holes too.  Perhaps the most memorable downhill par 3 in Ireland, the 6th, drops some 50 feet and is defended by rare pond to the right of the green, which is quite unusual on a links course.

Many consider the Ballyliffin Glashedy Links to be a world top 100 worthy golf course.  The large greens and rolling hills certainly offer plenty of challenges.  The deep revetted bunkers will undoubtely get you too, if you are just slightly off line. However, if you judge a course by beauty, then Ballyliffin certainly warrants a visit and will qualify for your top 100 list!
