Today is the third day of the 2016 Open Championship (or simply The Open Championship for much of the world). This year it’s being held at Royal Troon, located on the southwest coast of Scotland.
Scotland has five courses that have hosted The Open since 2000 – Muirfield, St. Andrews-Old Course, Carnoustie-Championship Course, Royal Troon-Old Course, and Turnberry-Ailsa. All high ranking, Top 100 in the World Courses.
Each year we have groups calling us to say “we want to play all five.” This certainly can be done, and often is, but it requires planning well in advance. In fact, Muirfield is already confirming tee times for play in 2017 and many tee times have already been booked.
If next year is “your year” to play golf in Scotland we strongly suggest getting the ball rolling quickly. And, If the St. Andrews-Old Course is also in your sights, planning early is the key to success.
Also keep in mind that right now the dollar is extremely strong versus the British Pound. It’s some 15% stronger than this time last year.
