It will take over an hour to drive from Lisbon or the Cascais-Estoril area of the Lisbon Coast, but the new (2017) West Cliffs GC on the Silver Coast is worth the drive. The varied landscape and natural terrain was maintained undisturbed as possible to create a unique and world class 18-hole seaside links golf course alongside the silver coast. Rolling sand dunes interspersed with coastal vegetation, while the pine groves overlook the ocean from above. This privileged and exclusive location will mesmerize and challenge you to tame the forces of nature and perfect your game.

Fitting perfectly into the natural environment, course designer Cynthia Dye, the niece of Pete Dye, has created a beautiful and challenging links layout overlooking the sea. Many consider West Cliffs now to be the top Portugal golf course, although there are some holes which might be too severe to ever rank as a World Top 100.  However, the views and conditioning are superb, and it is a very entertaining layout not far from the Praia d’El Rey resort.
