A golfer who would like to play a modern, scenic, highly touted new links course in the Northeast of Scotland.
A heather covered dune land sitting 10 miles (16 km) from Aberdeen’s city center possesses one of the world’s best links courses. Trump International Golf Links in Scotland is currently ranked #100 in the world by Golf Magazine. Dr Martin Hawtree, who is acknowledged master of links golf course architecture, oversaw the development of the championship golf course. Trump International has a Par of 72 and a maximum length of just over 7400 yards. It also follows a classical pattern of two out-and-back loops of nine holes.
All 18 holes thread their way through the dunes. The standout on the back is the 14th, with its valley fairway and glorious North Sea vistas. Some holes rise to find views of the sea and coastline, while others plunge into secluded valleys. They offer a sequence of magnificent landscaping, alternating spaciousness and enclosure. Finally panoramic views, a rich texture of vegetation and wildlife habitats surrounding the golf holes.
Moreover, each hole has six separate tees catering for all classes of golfer. The bunkers are placed to challenge the stronger player, but not to overly punish the weaker golfer. In addition, all bunkers are turf-revetted in traditional style to combat wind and erosion and sand-blow. Greens are sited in natural cliffs and valleys and are featured in relation to their setting.
The course is constructed to a high specification and has a design and infrastructure capable of hosting a major competition.
