The Open will officially take place July 18 – 21, 2019.  Royal Portrush will then be in the rotation for two more Opens before 2040.

In preparation two new holes are being developed, which will extend the course to over 7,300 yards.  The renovations will also allow more room for the expected crowds, including grandstands.

We suspect the local economy will see a strong boost from this event. We’re also looking forward to seeing more infrastructure developed (hotels, etc.) to accommodate for what might be 200,000 visitors during the Open.

Royal Portrush is by almost all accounts a top 20 courses in the world.  It’s neighbor by a couple hours, Royal County Down, is typically in the top 5 in the world.  These two courses can serve as a great foundation for a golf trip to Northern Ireland.
